Disaster is a tragedy of mage proportion and multiple dimensions, of which social dimension is considered the most damaging, which at times, lingers on for generations. Through a tailored and prompt policy initiative, its effects can be minimized. Now, climate change has brought Pakistan where, across the year, there is too little or too much water in the system, which induce disasters. Chief Executive of the National Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Authority, Government of Nepal, Anil Pokhrel, says on climate front, risk reduction strategy should include negotiations with all stakeholders at the global level to put forward a consensus policy for reducing risk and mitigation.
